“Rotary Service” was successfully returned to Lowestoft in 2015 for refurbishment by the trusts team of dedicated volunteers, in order to provide a new life as a safe, reliable youth training vessel.
The refurbishment including re-powering with more modern and economical engines (Scania DSI-11s) and redesigning the vessels interior for her new role, will take several years and will be funded by charitable donations, sponsorship and/or Grant funding.
The Trust are working alongside industry partners to utilise the advances in technology the past 43 years of engineering development have brought. The vessel is to have a full refurbishment throughout to make her capable of operating with up to 12 persons on board, or 8 on longer voyages.
